Betty Schultz Goldberg (goldbergbet@gmail.com) says “Josh ‘63 and I are avid theater-goers, last year we saw over 160 plays in NYC, at Yale and other Connecticut locales. We just returned from a mini-trip to Niagara -on-the-Lake where we saw 3 plays in one day at the Shaw Festival. We came home via Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown. We plan the operas around Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s presentation of “Opera and the Law.” She is marvelous… this year’s opera highlight was a production of “La Traviata”, which we studied in Music 101-102...I contacted the professor who taught the course, got a lovely answer.. But I can’t remember his name. If anyone remembers contact me. In other news. We recently had dinner with Bobbi Lester and Arthur Margolin before seeing Goodspeed’s Norma Terris “Because of Winn Dixie.” Looking forward to the 60^th reunion.”

From Robert Gambino, “I run my 3000sqft green house producing special ornamental plants. Am active politically and socially in our community. Have completed 50 years of marriage this year in CT and hit 80, plenty of years to go. Best day at Cornell was watching Spring Weekend.”

Diana Thompson is an advocate for seniors and the hard of hearing. And recently took a trip to Patagonia with Road Scholar. She and her husband are both healthy and are contributing to the community and our State. She remembers especially playing the flute with the Cornell Orchestra and classes with Prof. Foote in Philosophy.

Joanne Schapiro Koch (joannebarbarakoch@gmail.com) “has had 18 plays and musicals produced.” Some of the titles are “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” about Belle Barth, “Raunchy Little Musical” played in Port Washington, “American Klezner -- the Musical” she wrote the book in collaboration with Ilya Levinson (music) and Owen Kalt (lyrics), new production of “Safe Harbor” based on the story told to her by Andy Algava ‘60. “I love collaborating on musicals and helping other playwrights and emerging writers. I continue to direct the Master’s in Written Communication program at National Louis University in Chicago”

Robert Stamper is in Berkeley, CA is “still working as Fortisure Distinguished Professor at UCSF School of Medicine. Research projects in SF, India + Nepal keep me occupied. Clinical work in SF also. Love off time, enjoy skiing, fly fishing, hiking in mountains. Recent (2018) recipient of Visionary Award of Glaucoma Foundation.”

From Mehdy Douraghy(douraghys@yahoo.com). “I am still working 3 days a week. I am also curating an exhibition on prayer rugs In Evanston, IL at Minasian rug gallery. For my 85^th birthday, my wife 4 children with wives and husbands with 8 grand children will be celebrating in Bally Indonesia (sic).”

Diane Baillet Meakem (dbmeakem@aol.com) says “My army of grandchildren has hit the colleges. 2 frosh at Cornell (yay), 2 at Dartmouth (Tuck), one at Brown, one at Tufts. Younger ones range in age from 3 -17. There are 18 in all. I am blessed.”

From Woodstock, IL, William G. Schmeelk (abschmeelk@aol.com), wife Alice Bruno, writes “My daughter, Julia is publishing a series of novels -- the common thread is New Earth. Six novels have been in print, volume 7 is ready, volume 8 is ready soon. Her website: Juliaschmeelk.com.”

Peggy Monkmeyer Mastroianni in Washington, D.C, has “retired from being Legal Counsel of US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Now volunteering in a number of 1 to 1 positions. I seem to be in a new world -- providing direct service -- tutoring very young public school children in reading; helping visitors at the National Museum of African American History and Culture; and facilitating English conversation groups for foreigners. All incredibly interesting.”

James Baden in Hilton Head, SC is “a volunteer in local clinic, Rotary Club, singing in barbershop chorus.” Enjoys time with grand children and time to read. Best day at Cornell -- graduation --on to medical school!

An update from Gail Kwellen Ripans (ripens@mindspring.com). Still teaching at Senior University of Atlanta on current events and world affairs. “We attend concerts and plays and entertain -- we love being grandparents.

Traveling -- on a cruise from Amsterdam to Norway -- and to our condo in St. Pete Beach Florida.

Emil T. Cipolla (etcipolla@gmail.com) writes he is “lobbying (volunteer) Rhode Island legislators on veteran issues -- active MOAA (Military Officers Assn of America) -- on a first name basis with greater than 40 legislators. Developed an economic case to justify eliminating military pension from R1 income tax. Best day: passing last exam, earning BSME degree, getting Air Force commission, all just before getting married.”

Dr. Douglas Dedrick (dr doug 316@aol.com) lives in The Villages, FL and “plays the ukelele with grandsons and enjoys bicycling. Maintains homes in FL and NY.”
